GCN DVD Boot Crash on Wii!

I have tried booting Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker and Madden 2002 on my Wii, but everytime I do, the Wii makes a few faint clicking noises and then crashes! Is the problem the firmware or the hardware? Help!
