Cameras & Flashlight Stopped Working After Camera Replacement

Hey guys,

I bought a replacement rear facing camera for my iPhone 6S Plus from iFixIT, (iPhone 6 Plus Rear Camera) and when I reasselbmed, neither camera works and the flashlight no longer works. I tried it with FaceTime, etc, all I get is the black screen when I open the camera app. I have restarted, closed the app, even did a full restore and setup as a new phone.

When I went to switch out the camera to my old camera (the camera lens cracked) everythign worked again. Thoughts?

It sounds like you either incorrectly connected the replacement camera or it is defective. Even when ordering from a solid vendor like iFixit, you can still get the occasional dud. Small parts are notorious for poor quality. I can't speak for iFixit but I doubt they test every single part they get from their suppliers.

So try to re-install the replacement camera one last time, then go back to the old, cracked one. If it is clear that the replacement camera does not work, call iFixit and have it replaced under warranty.
