I figured it out. I disconnected the keyboard somehow and didn't realize. I plugged it back in and it's fine. Thanks

If you have removed the battery, you can still run the MacBook by connecting it to an AC outlet with the included AC power adapter.

Unplug the power adapter, Ethernet cable and any other cables from the MacBook. Wait 10 minutes if you have been using the MacBook to allow it to cool off.

Plug one end of the power adapter into the power adapter port on the MacBook and plug the other end of the power adapter into an AC outlet. Turn the MacBook back over and put it on a table.

Press the power button and hold it for up to one second, until you hear the startup tone, to turn the MacBook back on.

Had the same issue, turned out to be the keyboard connector as well, thanks for the info. I assume there was dirt inside the connector or it wasn’t plugged in correctly, but to be fair, that one is a bit difficult to get seated right anyways

done with my battery-less MacBook Pro 2015 (mid 2015) didn't work. boots almost to the end and the reboots :-/

The batteries where bulged a lot, discovered due in an routine inspection do clean the inside. I was afraid and removed the batteries (quit a job but I used a dental floss ^_^ to cut thru the glued, it works really nice) to keep working no my Mac. No go... a 2900€ laptop that cuts me deep like that - cant run without batteries. really considering my next Mac be a hackintosh laptop or so.
