2009 MB Pro 13" need help rescuing the hard drive

Water was spilled on my 2009 MacBook Pro (aluminum body).

What I'm trying to do is use my 2007 MacBook remove the hard drive from that & pop the 09 hard drive in it and try and save all my data to an external hard drive .

If it reads and works with the 09's hard drive in and is savable I will go ahead and purchase a (SATA Hard Drive Enclosure for the MacBook and MacBook Pro) and use as an external drive.

Since my next purchase will be a iMac, that or will wait and find a broken replacement on eBay to refurbish...

Is there anything I should do before trying this. I know one thing is backup the 07's hard drive up before I install the 09's.

Your system specs:

- MacBook 13" 2.0 GHz Core 2 Duo (White/07)

- MacBook Pro 13" 2.26 GHz Core 2 Duo (SD/FW)

Note the difference is the SATA port speed between them SATA I (1.5 Gb/s) & SATA II (3.0 Gb/s)

Woo Here! Not that simple, how about making this easer and safer.

Get a cable like this: Startech 2.5" SATA to USB adapter. Take your drive out of the damaged system and then just hook it up to your older system to copy off what you need.
