I replaced my DC-In Board. It works. But laptop does not. Suggestions?

Took laptop apart, got everything back 'in', and was thrilled to see it power up and charge the battery- the initial problem- but now laptop itself does not even start up. Any suggestions?

It was an extremely difficult process and I am a confessed beginner.

What specifically do you mean by "see it power up" and "not even start up"? Is it charging the battery, but not doing anything when you press the power button? If so, could it be that the ribbon cable from the topcase to the logic board is not fully seated, and so it's not doing anything when you press the power button? This does happen, as sometimes getting the topcase in place takes a little work, and the cable can come loose in the process. I always suggest testing the machine fully before putting it back together, just so you're not stuck having to do a bunch of work opening it up again.

Or does something happen when you press the power button, but there's nothing on the screen, etc.?

Have you checked that all the connections are back in place, if it started up the once and you got to the login screen it could be software related. The only way you might have of rememdying any problem is to retrace your steps and take apart and put back together again.

Top tip for taking apart. Print out each page of the take apart intructions (keep in order) as you take each screw out place on a small blob of blu-tack and place it on the picture itself. That way what comes out goes back in.

Good Luck

Thank you Lloyd. What an excellent suggestion, using blu-tack to paste screws on the page by page instructions. I appreciate it.
