Why is my reception dropping out when I switch to vibrate

Hey guys I changed the back on my iPhone 3G. All went sweet although now it drops in and out of reception and goes completely off and says no service when I switch my iPhone to vibrate?

Any clues why this could be.

check that the small gold prong on bottom right of the motherboard is making contact with the metal bezel-sometimes it gets bent up when you lift the motherboard out. as to the vibrate-just check that it is in properly. there is a small groove the motor sits in on the back case. the motor has a metal cover with 2 tiny prongs which need to sit in the matching groves on the housing. if it isn't in right it may be disrupting your signal.
