Long time of non use

I have a Pioneer PL-44F turntable that I haven't used for 20 years or more. It comes out of its base very slowly but sticks along the way. No other features or buttons seems to work. It seems that it the problem is not being used so perhaps moving them manually to loosen things up will do the trick? Any ideas?

Answer this question I have this problem too

arch if it moves out slow and sticky it is possible that the gear or the shaft are gummed up. Take a look at the image for the location of part 3 and part 6. See if you can clean those with some isopropyl alcohol and free them up.

Old Turkey,

If I was to tear this unit down to that degree, I'd never be able to put it together again. It seems that the base is moving in & out easier, after manually helping it numerous times. However, the arm & platter do not move. Anything else you can suggest?
