4 part question about xbox

So I have a three part question about a Xbox One I recently aquired for cheap. The disc drive is donefor in it sadly, but I personally have never owned a game on disc for it Xbox anyways. Now I already have a system so i bought this one strictly to do some mods to this console and some additional features to the it exp: led lights, new cooling system and a new hardrive. Not to mention i want to submerge it in mineral oil, so now here's the questions.

A.) Can the system work properly if the disc drive were not installed at all?

B.) What kinds of hard drives can bought and installed,

C.) And how would one go about swapping the setting to the new hardrive?

D.) What would all have to be done to successfully submerge the xbox in the oil and would it overheat at extended periods of time?
