Why is the receiver immediately turning off at the peak of a scene?

My receiver for the past few days would turn off at the peak of a scene. Last night it did the same thing over and over-so I would turn it back on over and over. However, after the 5th or 6th time it would not stay on. It turns off and then I see a blinking red light. The receiver itself appears to be over heating as well.

Answer this question I have this problem too

It is going into protection mode to protect the speakers from damage. You can try to reset the amplifier by following the reset instructions in the service manual. If that does not work it will need serviced of replaced.
