Digistiser not responding after replacement

Hi, I have replaced a broken screen on my IPAD AIR 2. I purchased an OEM digitsier and LCD full assembly. After fitting the screen and turning on the digitiser will not respond, however the LCD works fine.

I have not yet transferred the home button as I am awaiting a replacement so this screen is currently without a home button.

My question is:

Should the digitiser still respond without the home button?? For obvious reasons I do not want to stick on and transfer the home button to this screen if its faulty.

Is this a good question?

Hi thanks for the reply. Yes I've checked the cables and the connectors, they all look untouched and seated correctly, the ribbon on the new screen has hardly been touched as I was very careful handling. I have no idea why it will not respond it's driving me nuts, maybe a faulty screen.

Hi,

Yes the digitiser should still work without the home button, check if you haven't damaged the cable in any way at all, check the connector on the logic board and make sure it's not damaged, and see if you have connected it correctly, if you have checked all this, the replacement should work. :-)
