Home button sits too far back

I bought the full assembly and home button gasket. I followed the directions carefully and made sure the new part looks like the old. The home button sits way too far back into the assembly. When I push the home button I can see underneath the display and feel the sharp edge of the glass. No exaggeration. The part works. I have done a lot of repairs(including display assembly) but this is my first home button "move" with the new touch ID home button. Thank you for your time and help!

Hi,

This is more than likely due to the part you are using, it may be a cheap part with thicker glass, which would cause the home button to sit further in and not be flush with the glass, I would highly recommend that you change supplier or look elsewhere for your parts. :-)

The quick fix I do is bend the metal plate behind the home button.

Shouldn't have to with quality screens. :-)

Ged who do you recommend for display assembly?

I shouldn't have to do a lot of things. But living in reality means that sometimes you have to do things you shouldn't have to do.

I'm sure Buddha or Ghandi has a better quote but here is mine; suck it up buttercup :)

Well, your reality is far different from mine pal. :-)
