Vertical lines appeared on my iMac after hdd to ssd swap

Hello

I got vertical lines on my iMac 27 inch A1419 after a hdd to ssd swap. I can't really send the iMac to a repair center and was wondering if it is more likely to be the lcd cable or the lcd panel itself that has been damaged ? Here is a photo of the problem :

Did you make sure to put the correct screws in the right holes? It would surprise you how much that can affect the performance of the machine.

Can you give us your model info as the A1419 covers quite a few different systems. If you don't know lookup your systems SN here: EveryMac - Lookup then paste the systems URL here so we know which one you have.

I've got some bad news here. :-(

In the process of taking off the display assembly you pushed the tool in a bit to far severing the LCD screen to the ribbon cable within the display assembly (where the glass is connected to the cable). Sadly, there is no fix, your only hope here is to replace the display assembly.

I encourage you to review the IFIXIT guide here: iMac Intel 27" EMC 2639 Display Replacement.
