Night Lights Over Range

The night light over the range on my LG LMVM2075ST Microwave only works on the High Setting. There is both a left and light bulb which both work on High Setting, so it's not the bulb.

Hi,

The problem is either a faulty cooktop lamp 'low' relay (there is also a cooktop lamp 'high' relay- both relays provide power to the lamps- depending on which one is operated), a faulty diode on the control board (this diode affects only the 'low' relay circuit to the lamp) or a fault in the control board that is causing the 'low' relay not to operate or current not to flow to the lamps.

As the relay is also mounted on the control board unless you have electronic diagnostic and repair skills and tools to determine whether the fault is either the diode, the relay or somewhere else on the control board I strongly recommend that you take it to a reputable and professional microwave repair service to get it repaired.

There a very high voltages remaining in a microwave oven, even with the power disconnected. They could even be lethal depending on your medical condition.

If you do not know what to look for or what you are doing, leave it to the experts to fix.
