MacBook won't turn on at all and power indicator doesn't light up.

Around a week prior my battery stopped charging and my laptop would only turn on with the charger connected. I found the smc reset and that worked, so I thought things were fine. Then a week later I shut my laptop down for the night and when I woke up I tried to turn it on: nothing. The charger just turns a dim green and the laptop won't turn on at all, not even the battery charge indicator lights up.

So, I've tried numerous things I've read on forums and seen on YouTube videos to no avail. Smc reset won't do anything. I've opened up my laptop and unplugged the battery, waited 30 seconds and then reattached it; all that happened was the fan span for a few seconds and it's still dead. I then presumed it could be the battery and purchased a new one, the one I had before had been telling me to replace it for a while. Still, didn't work and now I'm stumped.

Thank you for your time, I appreciate any advice you can give.

It sounds like it is likely motherboard damage, perhaps causing a short to a voltage rail such as PP3V42_G3H_REG. I would take it to a 3rd party MacBook Repair store that does component-level motherboard repair, and has a no-fix, no-fee policy. They should be able to revive your computer for a fraction of the price that Apple would charge for motherboard replacement.
