wii left in standby for too long? Doesn't work but has power

Wii was left in standby mode for a long period of time and no longer works. When I turn it on nothing happens, the screen stays black, and my samsung TV does not recognize that the wii is connected to it.

It receives power, turns on and off, accepts and ejects discs, but it cannot go into standby mode anymore for some reason. It also makes no noise (like a disc spinning noise or anything else for that matter) when it is on. I opened it up and tested that it is still getting the full 12v from the power supply so that is intact.

Could it be the capicitors? They do not look blown but I cannot tell

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

try replacing the WIFI card because this can overheat when in standby mode. the only problem you may have is finding a card because they are difficult to find

To not have this problem again just go to Wii settings>wiiconnect24>off
