not having taken home button out of 2g am just wondering if they are same type of construction as 3g with 2 gold prongs making contact with ? dock- on 3g simply lifting them up a little stops you having to go through drama of replacing flex.

try ebay-seem to have lots of spares/repairs if you can't get an "OEM" part from hong kong/china
