Mechanical click went crazy, how can I disable it?

Hi, I have a white macbook A1181.

The mechanical click has been too oversensitive for some months but now it's completely nuts, it acts of its own by barely touching it, and acts at a very high speed, so it makes the computer unusable as it drags and opens everything at a very high rate (for example, let's say the cursor was over some file in finder, it would open like 10 times in less than a second, I'm not exaggerating).

I read it's caused by batteries bulging, but I recently replaced the battery and still the same problem. Even without battery it acts of it own. I'd like to use only the trackpad portion, use tap to click because right now it's a %#*@ nightmare to use and I don't want to buy a new top case (I live in a inconvenient place to order these things and money becomes an issue).

I don't see a guide in this website to remove the mechanical click while leaving everything else (trackpad) in working state. I tried many tricks, blowing air, using paper to remove dust and other elements but it hasn't worked. If I need to take it out so be it, be please direct me in doing so.

Any help would be appreciated

I think you're going to need to bite the bullet here ;-{

There is not much you can do here other than replace the upper case: MacBook Core 2 Duo Upper Case Replacement and here is the part: MacBook Santa Rosa/Penryn Upper Case with Keyboard - Apple PN: 922-9550.

Not an option for me, I mean, for that money, I prefer to buy another computer. and I know I can get it cheaper from some chinese sites but that's a lot of wait.

Do you know of a method to disable the trackpad in a OS level? I thinking of using only the mouse. I can do it easily on my windows partition by disabling the driver but I don't know how to do it in OS X

No means in software, all you can do is disconnect the ribbon cable from the logic board, but that will also effect the keyboard. You'll then need to use an external keyboard & mouse.

I would look for a used junker system on eBay or search the P/N I gave you 'Apple 922-9550 see if you can find one that way which is cheaper.
