Shut down automatically after 3 mn


MBP 2010 15 "goes off after the session starts about 3 minutes!

What I did:

  1. Reset nvram and smc
  2. "Apple" + R repair hd
  3. "Apple" + S fsck -fy
  4. Starting without extensions
  5. mounting another HD instead of the first

... always the same pb!

It does not hot, the 2 fans work

  • HD flex problem?
  • Another solution ?

Was the MagSafe charger plugged in and was it Green?

When the system goes down does the Caps Lock LED light when you hit the Caps Lock key?

Are you able to see the faint image of your desktop when you shine a flashlight through the Apple logo in the lid?

Common GPU fault on the 2011 models, see

Return it to Apple before the end of the year, and they will fix this FOC

Sorry but is not a GPU fault .... tested (Genius Bar), maybe an another way ?


Check the inside of the Macbook for liquid damage


No liquid damage....


I would recommend taking it to someone who can properly diagnose this, could be anything (something on logic board, SSD, software, etc). It is difficult to diagnose these without looking at this
