My washer is not draining, it will in permanent press cycle most times not in regular cycle any suggestions. Not sure of model it's the basic about 10 years old.

Sherry, the common cause for a washer not to spin and drain is a faulty lid switch, but could also be selector/timer switch contacts faulty, pump jammed, etc. If you could find your make and model # and do a google search it could lead you to a known common issue for that model.
