Why is the touch screen on my tablet not responding?

When I try to press things on the tablet screen, nothing happens. The tablet doesn't respond to my finger pressing at all, but the screen is still on.

If your tablet screen is not responding to touch, it might be because your fingers are covered. If you are wearing gloves, try removing them. Your fingers could also be dirty or oily, which could prevent the screen from responding to touch, so try washing your hands making sure to dry them thoroughly. If that doesn't work, there might be a software problem. Try turning your device off and on again. If by chance your screen is damaged, that could also keep your screen from responding to touch. Refer to the device's troubleshooting guide for more information.
