Nothings happens when I plug to usb

I changed the screen on my ipod 160 classic. Now when I connect to Windows, it does not even know something is connected. The screen lightens, so I know power is going to it, but the screen remains grey with no Apple screen...nothing.

@rusty54 was it working before you replaced the screen? What happened that you changed the screen?

It was working fine before there started getting black marks on the screen, so I replace it. Now my computer does nothing when plugged into the usb, and the screen just lightens. Oddly, if I disconnect the usb and reset, the screen displays a whiter screen.
