Hi,

Ensure that the contacts that the coin cell battery is touching have enough tension to press against the battery and that they are bright and shiny.

Also check that the battery (CR2032) is inserted the correct way up.

If it still doesn't work after this, I suggest that you check on how long you have had the Dewalt DC 012 radio. (can't find dc102 so assumed that it was a typo).

Dewalt offers a 3 year limited/ 1 year free service on their products, so if you have verified that you have only had it within this time period, then consult the documentation that came with the radio as to what you have to do to make a claim for a warranty repair or replacement.

If you can't find the documentation here is an image taken from the User manual which shows the warranty provisions. Click on the image to enlarge it for better viewing.

HI, Since it is out of warranty, open the unit and trace the coin cell battery wiring back to the control board using a DMM (Digital Multimeter-Ohmmeter function) to check the continuity of the wiring and connections. (make sure all the batteries are removed before you do this) You may find that it is something as simple as a broken wire or dry solder joint. Also try placing only the coin cell back in and ensure that you can see 3VDC, (using a DMM - DC Voltmeter function), back at the control board.

If that tests OK then you will have to trace the 3V 'supply' tracks on the control board and find out where they go. Most probably they will lead to a single IC which controls the whole unit.
