Why won’t my laptop charge when I have it plugged in?

I noticed that when I connect my power adaptor to my laptop, it won’t charge. I’ve noticed that there is heat coming from the connector head of the power adaptor, but it still isn’t charging when it is connected to my laptop.

If you are noticing that your power adapter is functioning but your laptop is failing to charge, there may be an issue with your laptop’s charging port. The charging port often fails on this laptop due to excessive use. Refer to the Asus K53E-BBR7 troubleshooting page for additional information at Asus K53E-BBR7 Troubleshooting.
