Z3 Flex connector mismatch

I have an Xperia Z3 to repair but it looks odd to me. The signal flex cable was damaged and I have sourced a replacement but both the new and old cables seem to have female connector ends. This would be ok but the two board connector sockets would then need to be male and only one is. Am I missing something here or is the a missing adaptor of sorts?

Thanks

Brian

Hi

Don't know if this is a help or not but here is a link to a video showing the complete re assembly of a Xperia Z3.

At 4:40 minutes onwards into the video there is a clear view of the signal cable connector on the boards at both ends. To me it appears that both are male connectors, as you can see what looks like a centre pin in both the connector plugs on the boards. Hopefully your connector is not broken.

Hopefully this is of some help.

Thanks I watched that. I appears that the male connector was actually no longer there so I took one from another faulty Z3 component and soldered it on. Phones working now thanks

Just to be clear this was actually an antenna cable and not a ribbon flex cable right?

The antenna socket on the logic board or antenna daughter board that mounts onto the bottom speaker thing can rip off easily if cable is not unclogged properly.
