Computer stopped working, guy from Best Buy said it's processor

My computer stopped working. When I turn the power on it start emitting sound - 1 long and 2 short beeps. Guy from Best Buy said this sound is the code for a faulty video card, but since my computer does not have one the next thing would be a processor. I put a new one but my desktop doing the same thing. Any suggestions ???

Options

galvinok try unseating and re-seating the RAM module. There is a possibility that this is a memory error. It may help if you can give us the exact model of your Gateway. Even better if you have a number for the motherboard.
