Airport drops while on battery only.

My airport wireless card works 100% while sitting in my living room and plugged in. It NEVER drops! BUT, if in the EXACT same location on Battery it will consistently drop out. What gives?

Options

Try a SMC Reset. SHut down the Mac, remove power supply, and battery. Hold the power button down for 15-20 second and reconnect.
