My Blu vivo Air LTE is not turning on or charging. HELP!

My phone was working well up to today when it got wet (not submerged). I had it in a "waterproof" case and a little water got in the case. It started to vibrate and would not stop. It vibrated nonstop for about 1.5 hours. Then it started to vibrate in 10 second intervals. I tried to charge it while it was vibrating nonstop to see if that would stop it but it didn't. At that time, the red light to show me that it is charging came on. Its been 3 hours since it stopped vibrating in intervals and now it wont turn on AT ALL. I tried charging it, no red light. I tried the volume up + power button thing, and that doesn't work. I don't know what to do :(. I am desperate. Help me please.

Hi,

As you know water and electronics and electricity are not a good mix.

The water causes corrosion and provides circuit paths for the electricity which were not in the phone's operating design and could damage the components.

First do not turn on your phone and then you need to remove the battery as soon as possible if you can from the phone to minimize further damage.''

Then you need to dis-assemble the rest of the phone and clean all the affected parts using Isopropyl Alcohol 90%+ to remove all traces of corrosion and water. Do not use "rubbing alcohol" as in some cases this is only 70% and is not as effective. If you do check the label to verify the amount

Electronics Water Damage

You will probably have to replace the battery as it is very hard to recover a battery from water damage.

As always with electronics, especially surface mounted PCBs be gentle when handling and especially when brushing away the corrosion. You do not want to remove any components from the board.

Hopefully after you have done all this the phone might possibly work correctly again.

If this process seems too daunting, take your phone to a reputable, professional phone repair service and ask for a quote for a repair. If you decide to do this, do it sooner than later.

My battery is sealed in. What should I do then?

Hi @Shanique Hibbert,

Here is a link to a video which shows how to gain access to the battery. As you can see the screen is very thin and removing it might cause more damage and expense unless you know what you are doing. If you don't have the correct tools and expertise, again I suggest that you take your phone to a reputable, professional phone repair service and ask for a quote for a repair. If you decide to do this, do it sooner than later.
