SSD upgrade not being recognized

I have installed a new SSD on my iMac 2133 2007. It's a Mushkin Triactor SATA III 2.5" SSD. It's formatted properly and will show up if I hook it up firewire to my Macbook Pro and put it in targeting mode.

But when I try to boot from a flash stick, it won't recognize any drives (the flashstick or the SSD). So I put the original drive back in there, booted it and it worked fine. Even booted it from the flash stick so I know it's not that.

It's the SSD is not being recognized for some weird reason. Is it a SATA II vs SATA III issue? I've read that the SATA cable just needs to be replaced, is that my issue? I've read through different forums to figure it out but I haven't found a specific answer to that question.

I want to buy this: iMac Intel 21.5" (Mid 2011) Dual Hard Drive Kit

But I'm unclear if it will fit my iMac. I can't find a cable listed for my 2133 iMac. So I hope this will work. But I'm unsure. Can anyone pipe in?
