When changing lenses, why does the brightness of the picture change?

Depending on the day I change the lens on the camera. Using one lens the picture comes out great and bright but when I change the lens the pictures come out dark. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

I'm assuming one of the lens is a G-Type lens and I'd guess that the aperture lever in the lens has been either broken off or knocked out of alignment. This would mean that if the lens is a G-Type lens, it will always be at minimum aperture and the lack of aperture lever will mean it won't be opened up when it's mounted on the camera.
