When I try to turn on my GPS, nothing shows up on the screen. I can't seem to figure out if I'm doing something wrong or if there is something wrong with my GPS. Any help would be great.

There are a few possible causes for this problem. It could be an issue with the battery, the charging cable, or the screen itself. There’s unfortunately not a great way to tell which it is without checking it all. However, there’s a great process to follow over at the Troubleshooting Page! Hopefully this should be able to get the issue sorted out.

I have a new Striker 4 77/200kHz
All systems worked while out boating. At the end of the day I turned on the system sand got a black screen being able to see only a very very faint home screen. What is the problem? Striker 4 77/200 kHz
If the screen is faint then that means that your back light has gone out. The new electronic screens other than LED or OLED need a light behind them to brighten the image. The cells do not emit light hence the need for a backlight. Google led technology and it will tell you everything you need to know but basically you need to have the backlight replaced.
