replacing cracked screen/glass on lg k7

this is my first time fixing or replacing a phone screen although im preety good at things like this, I ordered a replacemnt GLASS on ebay, which my lcd is fie just the glass was cracked, so I get it all taken apart, I heat it up to separate the broken glass off the plastic frame, and when i get it off I notice right away that my replacement screen is see through, like lass, and the broken one i just removed has a dark, square, thats like almost sort of greasy stuck to the broken glass still, that thing is not coming off, and that dark square is broken too from me taking the screen off, i thnk it might be the touchcreen sensor or something, so I didnt know about this, is any way to get that part only? Im not sure what to do now

You likely separated a little to far down on the display. Sounds like you removed the polarizer sheet from the LCD which is very much needed to see an image on screen. The digitizer sheet responsible for touch functionality is transparent and is not tinted or darker. Sounds like the glass, digitizer, and polarizer were all removed so glass only repair is now out of the question. So like Dylan mentions it's best to replace the whole display assembly at this point. Not a great chance of repairing your current screen unless you refurbish screens for a living and have the correct equipment, which most of us don't. Replacing the whole display may cost more but is so much easier than a glass only repair. Glass only repairs are getting harder with newer devices compared to older ones due to numerous reasons. It's always worth trying a glass only repair in my opinion. I just usually wait to buy any parts untill after I attempt to remove the glass. That way if I damage the digitizer or LCD I know wether to buy the whole display or just the glass with the digitizer already adhered to it. I do give you lots of respect for attempting the glass only as they are a challenge. Very rewarding when they go successfully though. So don't hesitate to try again in the future. Best of luck on your repairs.

Its called the digitizer. Its a little more expensive, but you can replace that as well. How did you get your plastic cover off after taking your screws out? I stopped because I feared I'd break mine if I pryed too hard to pull it off. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/s//ref=mw_d...

What came off is a layer of the LCD. It broke off from the other layers and stuck to the broken glass. To repair the phone, you will have to replace the entire LCD since the old one is now broken. Glass only repairs are usually very difficult and risky on most phones, so don't fell bad!
