I recently replaced my iPhone 6 screen. Everything went smoothly for the most part. But the ear piece and front facing camera arnt working. The front mic (Siri can hear me) seems to work and the light proximity sensor works. But when I try to make a phone call I hear nothing. Front face camera freezes when you flip it around. Any one else have this problem?

Hi all,
I have the same trouble. I would appreciate any feed back. After the screen replacement, front camera and the ear speaker was not working. I thought it could be the flex cable and ordered one and replaced it. Now the ear speaker works fine except the front camera. Even though the camera and the assembly is new, it is not working, screen just turns black when i flip it and it freezes and does not shutter. Any ideas much appreciated.

I had exact the opposite problem a few months ago. Front camera was working fine, but Siri couldn't hear me. After replacing the front camera assembly everything was working fine again. Of course you should at first unplug it and plug it in again to see if this could be the problem, but most likely you damaged the flex cable a litte bit and have to change it. You can get those parts very cheap on ebay (for under 10$)

Hey I just wanted to say that sometimes the flex cable might have a small tear so even the slightest tear will have the camera and earpiece malfunctioning so to fix the problem and a cheaper way to fix the problem would be to go on eBay in just buying an OEM iPhone 6 camera flex cable And they range from 3 to 15 bucks but just make sure that it's OEM so after you order it you can just replace the old one and I assure you that the camera should work .

As others have stated above, in most cases it's the flex cable, if that is the case just replace. But if your like me and enjoy hot swapping parts ( very dangerous for the health of the parts being swapped) You'll simply need to restart the device. From my testing I noticed that the camera and earpiece don't register until the device is restarted. Sounds so simple... but it works every time for me!

I have 6 plus now after a Yahoo repaired LCD assembly camera, front, and ear speaker nothing. All cords look perfect. No tears or even a tighspot if bent. I have tried a new speaker and camera as well. Also the first widest lcd ribbon at bAck u put on first. What does that ribbon control, o
I'm down to thinking if may be my problem??? Does anyone else know if might have
some advise but would a full reset possibly resolve issues??? Will be greatly appreciated if so. Thanks,

6 plus speaker and camera front not working or speaker, replaced camerafro t and speaker still nothing. What does firzzt wide ribbon that u plug in when i replaced both can.era n speaker that connectorlookz funny. What is it's function. Reset??. Idk and out of ideas. Help will be very helpful.

Is front camera 6+
I fixed my phone. I changed the front camera which came with a speaker, the microphone, and the other speaker by the microphone. When people call me I am able to hear but I'm not able to listen to music and I can't can't access Siri because there's no sound no sound.

This may caused by the incorrect install, check the front camera flex cable and replace it again

i also have that kind of problem, apple store said is we cant do anything, this is liquid damage. when you face the problem it was liquid damage or something else?

Sounds like front camera ribbon cable assembly needs to be replaced. I bet it was teared during screen replacement. You can double check if its plugged in if you want.

I would agree with Ben, check it first but definitely a connection problem and with the fragility of some ribbon cables there is a good chance it was torn.

I checked the cable and it all looked intact.. Everything looked fine all of the copper on the earpiece looked ok. Would the front mic and proximity sensor work if it was tore?

Inside that flex are multiple tiny traces. Its very possible that some of the traces are bad and some are good. Its very common to see some things on that flex work while others don't.
Its a very cheap and easy fix.
