Replaced screen, worked fine, now not and ear piece hot

Replaced the digitizer on an iphone 6, swapped over camera etc etc. Was very careful. Got it all back together besides the plate that covers the connectors and actually putting it back together. Turned it on to test and all was fine. Turned it off put the plate on and clipped it all together. Now won't turn on, be recognised by itunes or charge. The screen side of the speaker ear piece gets very hot when trying to turn on.

I made sure the correct screws were in place so i'm 99% sure it's not long screw damage.

The battery was connected the whole time but i've done it this way before twice and it was ok.

I've tried hard resetting it and had it on charge for an hour.

What next?

Please help as it's not my phone, it's a friend from works.

It's not okay to leave the battery plugged in when unplugging or plugging in any ribbon / flex cables.

The reason to this is because it runs the risk of connectors accidentally shorting on the wrong pins.

Even being careful plugging things in and out with the battery still plugged in it may still happen, already happened to me before.

For example plugging in the screen cables you can blow the backlight filter and / or camera ic on iPhone 5 and 6 series.

On the iPad Mini / Air screens you can also blow the backlight filter doing so as well.

So please refrain from unplugging or plugging in ribbon / flex cables while the battery is connected.

Unplug the front camera cable with the battery unplugged and have the screen plugged in.

Then plug the battery back in and see what happens from there.

I'm suspecting the front camera cable assembly to be damaged in some way. If it works then it's probably the front camera cable that needs to be replaced.

Just tested his old screen and worked ok so I assume you're ok. (I didn't disconnect the battery though) Works ok now. I will disconnect in future though.

I'm going to buy a new screen as I think i've blown this one
