Pentalobe screw keeps spinning

One of the two pentalobe screws on my iPhone is just spinning around when I try to unscrew it. This is an urgent problem as my battery and lightning port are in the way out and I would like to replace them before anything else goes wrong. If anyone can answer this problem. One solution i have seen of is to drill out the screw with a 1/16 drill bit. Ideally I would preferred not to do that as I may cause serious damage to the phone.

Help plz

Please don't drill out your phone.

Lift up on the screen just a bit with a suction cup or pry the screen upwards just a tad, a couple mm will do, then the screw should grab. Chances are the part of the screen that the screw goes into is broken off, so you have to get some leverage on it.

Hi,

I had just the same problem, apple under dimension the inside "nut" on the pentalobe screw. Maybe i gave it 200 gram of force and than i broke the nut.

After some hours of hardcore thinking, my woman went in to my office with a fridge magnet and tell me to try it out. I taught the frame was magnetic and the fridge magnet was to weak, but I gave it a try.

It worked...

My issue is that the screw head is stripped will this method work for that?

Prise the screen up with a screen opening tool (sucker) whilst unscrewing at the same time. It sometimes then bites and unscrews.
