Glass front replacement, separated LCD accidentally

Hi guys

I tried to do glass swap on my iPhone 6S and all was going well until I accidentally removed the white panel from the back of the LCD, rather than take the whole LCD off which is a real pain.

Can this be fixed or resolved?

I have since removed the whole lot, but it appears almost as though there are lines now on the foil area backing, almost like it's cracked below.

I can't seem to get the phone to power on either, and before it worked 100% of the time.

Many thanks for your help

Rob

Your best bet is to buy a replacement screen assembly from a reputable retailer.

Glass only is a terrible idea, especially on an iPhone 6S. Its never going to look right and chances are it won't act right either. You separated the backlight from the LCD and it sounds like you also broke the backlight. As far as the power issue, did you disconnect the battery before disconnecting the screen?

Thanks for your help with this mate - do you know a good place to source a 6s lcd display? They see to be a load more expensive than the 6 ones from what I have found so far.

I did disconnect the battery, and reconnected it after - but no joy...

Any ideas?

Need to get the display working again to troubleshoot, but more than likely it just needs a hard reboot.

Fair, ok. Shouldn't the phone still power on even if the display doesn't work or is connected, so it would vibrate or something? Can I reset via USB? I connected the button again but couldnt get it to reboot either.

A iPhone should still be detected via iTunes / Computer even if there is no screen connected.

It should be able to still boot up and respond to plug in on charge / silent + vibrate switch if it is on.

Thanks Ben. Is it safe to attach the battery without the screen connected?
