Printer does not want to print at all

Hi,

I purchased an Epson XP-312 about a year ago and have scarcely used it since then. A few days ago, I tried to print something, but when the paper came out, nothing was on it. I tried again some time later but I got the same results. The printer itself works as I tried to scan something and it worked. The display also works. I researched my issue and the most likely answer was that there was something wrong with the heads of the printer. Does anyone know anything about this issue and how to fix it?

Thanks

Hi, Bit confused here. You say that it scanned OK, is this correct? You scanned a document and it printed out OK. If this is so it proves that the printer itself can and does print. Where were you trying to print from, a PC? If so have you tried a test page print from the printer software in the pc? What have you tried?

Hi, I could scan a document from the printer to my computer, but that's about as far as I got. As for the test page, I tried printing one both from the software and from the printer itself, but came to the same results as when I had tried to print something: a blank page came out. The printer is one that can connect to the wifi and print from there. I have tried printing both by using my wireless network and also by using a USB cable from my computer to the printer, but got a blank page each time.

Hi,

Have you tried doing the printhead cleaning procedure using the printer software supplied? You may have to do it 4-5 times. It wastes a lot of ink but it may get the ink flowing if that 's what the trouble is.

I have tried that, but sadly, it did not work.

Sorry to ask but Have you installed the latest driver of this printer? As printerheads will not fail that easily.

I believe I have done so. What I think may be the problem is that there is dried up ink left in the heads due to the lack of usage.

I’m having the same problem although my Epsom Printer XP312 is older. Until now I’ve had no problems with it, but it suddenly stopped printing. It will print a photo from my iPad, will photocopy with no problems and print a web page, but will it print a letter?! No!

Have cleaned the heads several times, done a nozzle check and everything else I can think of. Have reinstalled the printer too. Any suggestions please?
