My tractor does nothing when I turn the key
My tractor does nothing when I turn the key. I tried changing the battery but still nothing. What is the next possible problem?

Ron, Have starter tested to be sure it is holding a good charge. Try to turn engine by hand, to ensure engine is not seized. Check/clean/tighten all connections on battery/solenoid/starter/Ignition switch and neg(-) cable to frame or motor. Check to ensure all safety features are working properly and not engaged. Check for an inline fuse, bypass solenoid to see if engine cranks if it does replace solenoid, if no crank replace starter. I have a new starter & solenoid but I am thinking that the problem is in the ignition switch since the voltmeter doesn't even light up when the key is turned on. Ill check out the other links you supplied. Thank you.
I fixed the same issue with my tractor. Check the earth bolt connection to the chase. I get corroded after a few years. Clean the terminal and replace with a new bolt.

After I have put a brand new battery on, brand new starter, new solenoid, brand new fuse brand new ignition switch and it still will not turn over what's the problem?
Can I use the parts off my murray 12.5 hp bs such as solenoid and starter to fix my murray 17.5 hp bs lawn tractor?
