How to partition and organize built-in SSD and HDD

The new Asus UX501 has one 128 GB SSD and one 1000 GB HDD hard drive built in.

I am looking for basic support on how I should use these two disks, what goes where; partitioning, etc so it is properly set-up.

Also the disks organization should make a regular backup easy.

Thanks for your recommendations.

For Windows users, you could use Disk Management to partitioning or manage the disks. you can merge, format, delete, shrink, extend partitions etc. However, there are some limitations about Disk Management, it isn't allow to move partition, and cannot merge partition with unallocated space which is not adjacent to the partition.

Fortunately, there is a better way to solve this problem. Taking advantage of the Partition Assistant to partition and manage your disks, Partition Assistant is more flexible to use, it support more functions than Disk Management, like increase C drive space, migrate OS to SSD, allocate free space etc. Moreover, you can backup data regularly with AOMEI Backupper.

Thanks for the detailed reply.

I have however first a m ore basic question!

What should go on the SSD (128 GB) and I assume the rest goes on the HDD (1TB)?

Then do I need to partition the SSD? With 128 GB seems too small?

As far as the HDD is concerned are more than 2 partitions required?

The PC will have Windows 10 installed .

Thanks
