Why wont my iPhone stay on

Hi, I recently replaced my iPhone 4s front screen and after I finished, the screen will only turn on at the charger. Everything works normally but when the charger gets pulled out the screen goes black. What have I done wrong?

I have pressed down on the battery connection on the motherboard and it still seems to make no difference.

Someone, please help.

FYI - in the process of replacing the screen the connection between the power button & proximity and the motherboard snaped. Could this mean anything??

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Is it stuck on the apple logo right now or does it boot up and show like 100% / full charge and shut off on unplug?

Usually that means a damaged battery that needs to be replaced due to user damage.

Could you post a picture here of what snapped on the motherboard? That may contribute as to why the phone won't stay on.

You can use image hosting sites like imgur to upload your image there and paste a shared link here so that others can view the image(s).

Thanks, @benjamen50

I think it might be the second option you suggested. The phone is at 100% and turns off at unplug

I thought that might be the problem but I was hoping that I was wrong. Do you know of any way to avoid buying a new replacement battery??

I couldn't be bothered going to the effort of finding a link for the images so perhaps I could have your email to make life a little more simple.

Thanks
