Digitizer Pin breaking upon removal

Hello, I have been fixing these Ipad minis for awhile now and noticed that every now and again, the pins that connect the main board to the digitizer seem to randomly get pulled off without warning. It has happened on ones repaired multiple times and ones that are a first time repair. Is there any way to prevent this from happening or is it essentially luck of the draw? Thanks.

Answer this question I have this problem too

What are you using to pry the connector up?

I've worked on countless minis and never had that issue. Use a plastic spudger that is as close to the width of the connector as possible. You want as close to equal force across the whole connector as possible. Do not use tweezers, ever. It should take next to no force to get it up, so don't go reefing on it.

I use one about the same width as the connector, I'd attach a picture but it's at work. I do raise it as gently as possible but it still manages to take pins with it occasionally. Tried prying from the side or the top and all three angles led to the same problem. Tried a few different types of tools as well.
