iPhone 5 Battery Replacement Question

Hey guys,

So I want to do a mobile iPhone 5 battery replacement, but I don't want to disconnect the screen.

My question is: If I replace the battery of an iPhone 5 without disconnecting the screen will it later cause any problems?

Is it safe to do when I keep it in that 90° position?

You can do it without removing the screen, and it won't cause any problems, a long as you can keep it supported at 90 degrees. If it overextended or twists to the side it could be damaged. The 5 has a very short flex cable on the LCD.

Personally, I remove the screen, as it makes it much easier to get a good angle to remove the battery and don't have to worry about damaging the screen.

Is there a reason you don't want to remove it first?

Yeah, I repair the phone at college but as you say, you're right. I should disconnect the screen. However I could use my drotterpod, it keeps the screen in place very strong. Can I use that without disconnecting the screen?

If you are doing this for money, you owe it to your customers to do it the right way. You are going to put undue stress on the cables and connectors. Why on earth wouldn't you take the extra 30 seconds to take the screen off?

True, I will take the screen of . I was just like: maybe I screw a connector when re-connecting the cables from the display.
