it won't pick up service.

I have a iPhone 6 and it won't pick up service. It says it cannot be activated. Perfect condition and worked before. I was told it was the baseband, and possibly the antenna? Can anyone help me fix this? Apple wants $300 to fix it. I don't have the money for that. Someone help please!

Do a check first to make sure it's your baseband ic that's broken: When you remove the SIM card, does the phone alert you that no SIM card is inserted? If it does, then your baseband ic likely isn't the issue, and I'd suggest trying Omri's troubleshooting link.

If you remove your SIM card and the phone still continues to search for a signal, then you might have better luck taking it to a local phone repair shop instead of Apple. Baseband chip repairs require soldering (or you could try the "oven trick"). Either way, I wouldn't recommend it for a DIY project.
