Upgraded Core Duo MBP with 11n card but no 11n?

Hi,

I have replaced the Airport B/G AR5BXB6 on my Snow Leopard install with a BMC94312MC 11n card.

Network Info says I have b/g/n but System Profiler reports PHY modes b/g only.

I do not seem to get a 11n connection to my wireless N access point??

According to Mactracker your computer does not list a capability for n. I'm thinking that perhaps your logic board won't allow the connection. Ralph

Use Network Utility first tab, and look at the different network ports to see if -n is working.

That is incorrect. I have a Core Duo 2 GHz and I can see the PHY modes b/g/n with that card. I must mention that I have an airport extreme base station.

I found some info here : http://store.apple.com/us/product/D4141Z... may be you need an enabler update separately in case you dont have airport extreme.

Hope this helps.

You need to run the enabler, Sold from Apple you can probably find it free somewhere, I know my 802.11n upgrade card came with the cd.
