Hello……i have Nikon p900 too. Though not having the same problems as above. It was gifted to me an year ago. 6 months ago it stopped working and i gave it to the official address of them here for repair….thank god i had Warranty. They tooks 4 months!!! to repair it. The problem was my camera just stopped working all of a suddent , it just didn’t turn on. Now i am having another problem…..one week ago my cam again wasn’t turning on. I searched the internet and found out that i should try to turn it on from other buttons. I tried the play back button and it works. The on/off button has not been working for its function though the light on it still blinks when the cam turns on and stuff. To turn it off i have to take out eh battery as their is no other option. Now, the battery is exhausted the camera is not properly charging. It shows a blinking of light when being properly charged now it is showing faster blinks again and again. What should i do ? should i buy new batteries….take it for repair or what?

I was able to get it working by using another app, Camera Connect & Control. It let me enter IP address of the camera once connected.

  1. You have to go to the camera WIFI setting and find out its IP address from “DHCP server IP address”.
  2. Once you connect from you phone app, you need to put in IP from step 1.
  3. click the check box and then the arrow to connect.

I did open a case with Nikon, any update will post.

Thank you for this. I got tired of getting angry with Nikon's crappy tech, so I used this workaround, and it's great! Connected right away. This is an easy fix, Nikon. Buy them out and use the shell of their tech, for God's sake.

This didn’t work for me although after downloading the Nikon app from the store the download was remarkably simple! All works so simply and quickly. Hope this helps.

This worked for me, first time, after repeatedly trying and failing with Nikon WMU. The only drawback is that I have to pay for Camera Connect & Control, and I expect Nikon to provide usable download software as part of the cost of the camera.

I can’t find the IP number within my L840 to enter .

When accessing on phone in Nikon WMU

MUST go to settings and choose Nikon...

THEN GO TO WMU App

open  Settings  in top right

Click CONNECTION STATUS.

It's ridiculous that it's that difficult. I spent 2 hours with 3 different Nikon techs on the phone and then went to the camera store where the finally told me that the camera must be broken. Then I went home and read this and did it just fine, except that it won't access photos from the phone "camera roll" but I don't care about that at least for now.

Thank u so much after like 3 hours of trying everything this finally works and I can finally download my photos

I had this problem - I reformatted the sd card and this seemed to ease the problem - just erasing the photos is not enough the card needs to be reformatted after you have saved the files - hope this makes sense and helps!

I came to the same issue with my P900. Just realized that there might be connectivity issues with android 8.0+ and the WMU app for Android.

I have few devices u did try on and this is the result:

-Sam S6 T-mo (7.0) - yes

-Sam Note 3 - LOS 13.0(6.0.1)- NO

-Sam Note 8 (Int’l) (8.0) - NO

-Sam Tab S4 (8.0) - NO

-Nexus 7 (2013) LOS 14.1(7.0.1) - yes

-Hawei Ascend (4.4.4) - yes

- Iphone 6s (11.4.1) - yes

Pretty dramatic results! Most my old devices do connect without too much issues here.

Before I began by eliminating possibilities, I restored my P900 to factory settings and formatted the SD card. I also re-flashed firmware 1.5 fresh download; but nothing happens!

So, today I done loaded the WMU from play store to the rest of my devices and did not what to make out of it. Hope this helps determine what might be causing connectivity failures.

Apparently we just have to try again and againd luckly or not it will connect if the planets are aligned.
With android 12, using the WMU after the wifi connection was made but still in f***ing negociation.
This time the negociation last few seconds and it was OK..

I changed the SSID name and password but I don’t think its important as the connection works and not the negociation.

Good luck guy/girls, and go to work Nikon team !

Any luck with connecting WiFi to Snap Bridge with P900 with newer Android phones like Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra? WMU won't work on newer phones at all and Snap Bridge did say that P900 and newer would work now after an update. I just did a firmware update on the camera and am now going to try connecting again but all I seemed to get before was Negotiating and then could not connect to camera.
