Mac Pro keeps rebooting before reaches desktop

When I turn it on it often will reboot at the 10.10 loading screen, about 6 seconds after switching on.

Usually does this 3 -4 times, and then goes to desktop.

Once running, it often just switches off in the middle of using it.

Any ideas?

Options

Do you have a second boot drive installed, if so try booting from it. Also try booting in Safe Mode. Also try holding down the option key on start up and selecting the recovery partition and run Disk Utilities. Let us know your results.

It would also help to know your exact machine and what mods you have made.
