Hi,

According to the specifications for the laptop, it either comes with an i5 3317U or an i7 3517U CPU.

https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/ASUS-ZenB... and has an Intel HM76 Express chipset which supports the following CPUs http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel_(chi... ,

So as long as the CPU is not 'mounted' on the motherboard and you get one with the same socket type then you'd think upgrading the CPU should work. The provisos being the power requirements of the higher spec CPU, the ability of the motherboard to supply that power and whether or not the installed BIOS will also work with it.

Just open the thing to see if the CPU is soldered or socketed. I'm 90 % sure it is soldered (look up BGA) because I have the i5 3317U in an Acer notebook and it is soldered. So you have to change the mainboard and CPU alltogether. In my case it would be around 150 € for the package.
