I had that problem & it was screwing up my phone, I couldn't fix it, so I took a hammer to it ! It didn't fix the problem but it made me feel much better !

A tiny dab of typing correction fluid should do the trick where the eye keeps popping up.

Annoying on a certain homewares website that l visit too someone's face appears in "chat" & won't go away when you click on the "X".

(I put a bit of masking tape over the camera on the front of the phone ) Good luck -very paranoia inducing !

The eye icon comes from the function Smart-Stay which is implemented at the Samsung Galaxy S5. Smart Stay is a function which can illuminate the display as long as you look at it.

Go to Menu -> Settings -> Display In this sub-menu of your Samsung Galaxy S5 you will find an option called "Stay Smart". Remove the check mark and then the function will be disabled on your Samsung Galaxy S5. The eye icon will not appear anymore at your status bar.

i tried that option and display still appears active yet smart stay has been disabled and no check mark on. It may be a whole different problem with phone software.

Correct answer.

Actually. It's a Eye tracking thing that was built in with smart stay. NOT any thing that's tracking you

Please say you are correct

On my phone it's actually under settings>display>eye comfort. If its turned on the icon appears. The setting is to filter blue light which can become uncomfortable to eyes if looked into for a period of time. When turned off the icon disappears and the blue light is no longer filtered out.

On my phone smart stay is not checked off it is disabled and it still comes on and every time it comes on my phone freezes up and I can't do anything when it goes away my phone unfreezes

by

I have the same problem and I went into my gallery and found all these recordings on my phone of me talking to others . Go to your files and look for sunp4541. I had 396 voice recording that had been linked to my email. If you see that eyeball up there and your phone freezes up when you see it change your email and get a new phone.

It's due to the “ Blue light filter” being on.
