Can't get top right corner screw back in.

I took apart my iphone 4 and, as expected, had trouble removing the top right screw (near the audio jack). Now that I am trying to reassemble, I CAN NOT get the screw back in. I have been working on it for an hour.

I am using the tool kit from ifixit and the screw driver hand is too thick to be able to get a direct line on the screw. I need some advice on how to proceed.

1. Is their a screw driver with a longer thinner shaft that might work?

2. What happens if I leave the screw out altogether? (I did try that but the reassembled phone is unresponsive.

Any other ideas?

Hi !

As long as this screw is a contact screw, there's no surprise about your phone not responding once reassembled.

I suggest that you use different screwdrivers, not being able to give you an accurate reference as long as I no longer own an iPhone 4. If you still can't manage to screw it or that the head is a bit damaged, some tools sold f.e. at iFixit may help you. I personally use this one for damaged screws.
