iPhone 5s: Yellow spot/streak on upper left corner of display

Block Image

Block Image

iPhone 5s 16gig, second hand. Phone is in good condition despite this fault.

Screen has yellow spot/streak running down the upper left corner, strongest at the top.

Could this be due to pressure on the display, or burn-in? Simply age?

Can happen sometimes on replacement screens or even original screens.

Its a pressure mark when the screen glue is pushed between the LCD / digitizer layer and the glass.

Sometimes it may be actually a bloated iPhone 5s battery pushing up against the screen from under the screen.

If the battery isn't bloated, replacing the screen will fix this issue.

I'm going to go with screen been replaced before.

Some aftermarket screens have the yellow mark issue usually due to the loca liquid glue not being spreaded out evenly when they assemble / refurbish the screens (talking in terms of whoever makes the aftermarket screens).

Thanks for the insight!

Downloaded a battery tester app, (edit) http://i.imgur.com/swLs0QB.jpg Got this as a result. Could be either, I guess? I am not sure if this phone has been repaired before, the screen is potentially the original.

I can't see the imgur link you shared, maybe try the imgur shared direct link?

That means 16% of its rated full capacity has diminished (usually due to basically using the phone a lot, normal and pretty average. Not too bad but okay / decent / acceptable for a battery.

Just means the full charge capacity is 15% lower than a brand new battery.

You can tap on the 'Three horizontal line and dots / Menu' icon at the top left and select 'Raw Data'.

On that page you will see more accurate readings for the battery charge and capacity which are supposedly read from the battery.

It looks fairly accurate, have used it on multiple phones.

When the phone shuts off at 20% and show lows charging symbol that is a pretty good indicator that you might want to replace your battery with a new one if you rather have it shut off at 10% - 5% which is usually what most iPhones do normally.

I'll admit it's a pretty good app and the best out of all of the battery apps in the app store in my opinion.

So the estimated full charge capacity is around 1335 MaH instead of the full 1,570 MaH.

Thanks, thought as much. In news though, I just noticed this today, the white plastic of the screen is slightly taller right where it yellows https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_GGu0... . Does this confirm battery bloat? I also have a plastic screen protector on this phone.

Even more concerning is that the plastic presses down slightly - as if its spongy in that area.
