Trak, you can try reseating(remove and reinsert in case of bad connection) the Ram/memory in your computer to see if that fixes the fault your having. I will post a link on how you access the Ram/memory to enable you to try this. Good luck .

I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

I'm having the same issue as the original post but it happens after i try and install a new trackpad. The error only happens while the trackpad is plugged in though

Have you tried resetting the BIOS?

by

@aactech

I have not. I'm not entirely sure how to reset the BIOS from a black screen, or if resetting it would work before putting the trackpad back in

Take out main battery. Discharge power by pressing On/Off button. Open case and unplug the CMOS (they call it "backup battery here). Here's the diagram from the manual.

or download entire manual:

I tried everything for the above comments and my screen remain black and the beeping continues. The power light flash and the "caps lock" light is on. I don't know how to fix this. Please give light

John hall is right about the track pad wire my track pad comes off easily and is snapped off the wire. I tucked the wire into the laptop and it started touching something I’m guessing metal which caused it to short circuit I think. I just had the get out the wire.

I have a Lenovo X1 Extreme Gen 1.

Got the 0282 beep. Memory module or system board error. I tried swapping out the memory didn't work. System board was above my pay grade. I'm glad I found this thread because I disconnected the touchpad and it works now. Thanks John Hall et al.
